Hey, Michael here! I'm the owner and head coach at WFA. I look forward to meeting you.

Thank you for joining us at Wasatch Fitness Academy!

We're thrilled that you've chosen to check out our community, and below you'll find some information to help you make the most of your time with us.

First and foremost, please arrive as a student. Wasatch Fitness Academy is a place where we learn together, practice as a community, and grow through shared experiences. Our coaches will challenge you to push through perceived limits, to work with new exercises and new implements, and to push harder and longer than you may want to.  Your best plan: enjoy it.

What we ask of you:

  • If you’re joining us for a class, please arrive 10-15 minutes before session starts to complete our waiver and to chat with your instructor; it’s important that we know a bit about you: your goals, training history, and any injuries.

  • If you’re coming for a 1:1 training session or an introduction session, please arrive just a few minutes early, as we’re probably going to be finishing up with other clients when you come in. It’s okay to be early, just plan to wait for a few minutes as we finish up.

  • Please wear comfortable clothes appropriate for training. We’ll be indoors for the session (unless we’re planning to run), and we keep the space slightly cool; you may want to have a layer you can remove as you warm up.

  • Please wear clean, training-specific shoes. Running shoes are often too highly padded to provide good stability, and we like to keep the floors as clean as possible (chalk not-withstanding). Or, you can join the rest of us and train barefoot (honestly, no pressure)

  • If you have any injuries or limitations, you are absolutely able and encouraged to join us. We’ll ask you about that before class starts, but an email in advance would be even better. Send a note to Michael@WasatchFitnessAcademy.com. If you’re coming in for a 1:1 or an introductory session, we’ll talk through any injuries or limitations before we begin.

What you can expect of us:

  • We’ll give you the skills and information to be successful with the workout. Our programming is generally published by 8pm for the following day, here, and you can find tutorials for many of our exercises here.

  • We have filtered, cool water available, but we ask that you bring your own bottle to fill. We do not keep disposable cups on hand.

  • If you’d like to read more about our strength and conditioning classes, head over here. If you’re joining us for yoga, you should read this description of our yoga classes. We have a few yoga mats available, but suggest you bring your own, if possible.

Finding us:

Wasatch Fitness Academy is located at 1295 Miller Ave, in Salt Lake City’s Millcreek/Brickyard neighborhood.

We’re between 1300E and Highland, two blocks north of 3300S, in a small strip of shops; we’re sandwiched between Cookie Cutters (kids’ haircuts, not cookies, thankfully) and Hyland Pharmacy (their sign is huge – look for them).
